1. About these terms
Unium is a product of Uncertainty Works Ltd., a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17169253) with its registered office at 124-128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. In these terms, "Unium", "we", "us", and "our" refer to Uncertainty Works Ltd.
These terms apply when you use Unium, including with other members of your account. By creating an account or using Unium, you agree to them.
2. Who can use Unium
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required in your country if higher, and able to enter into a contract.
You are responsible for your account, the people you invite to it, and activity carried out through it. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.
3. The service
Unium lets you and other members of your account chat with AI models supplied by third parties. Chats are shared with account members by default, but you can create private chats. Check who can see a chat before adding sensitive information.
Some supported devices can also run an AI model locally. Local chats stay on that device unless a feature, such as web search, needs to send a request through our service.
Unium is in beta. Features, models, limits, prices, and availability may change. The service may sometimes be unavailable or behave unexpectedly.
4. Subscriptions
We may offer subscription products from time to time. The price, billing period, included service, and any usage allowance are shown before purchase. A subscription covers the members of the account it is bought for.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same billing period until cancelled. The payment provider may charge shortly before the new period begins. Any usage allowance is shared by members of the account and normally resets at the end of each billing period. Unused allowance does not carry over unless we say otherwise in the product.
Web subscriptions are sold and billed by Paddle, which acts as merchant of record under its Buyer Terms. Subscriptions bought in the iOS app are sold and billed by Apple under its Media Services Terms. The payment provider handles checkout, receipts, taxes, renewals, cancellations, and refunds for its purchase channel.
We may change subscription prices or benefits. Where notice or consent is required, we or the payment provider will provide it before the change takes effect.
5. Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel at any time:
- For a web subscription, use the Paddle subscription management link provided with your purchase or in Unium.
- For an iOS subscription, use Apple's Manage Subscriptions settings.
Cancel before the next renewal to avoid another charge. Unless the payment provider says otherwise, you can continue using the subscription until the end of the paid billing period. Deleting your Unium account or the app does not cancel a subscription, so cancel it with Paddle or Apple first.
6. Refunds
Payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law or allowed by the payment provider's rules. Asking for a refund does not guarantee that one will be issued.
- For a web purchase, request a refund from Paddle using your receipt or contact us so we can help. Paddle's refund policy applies.
- For an iOS purchase, request a refund from Apple at Report a Problem. Apple's decision and terms apply.
The payment provider may consider how much of the purchased service or usage allowance has already been used. It may approve a full or partial refund, or refuse the request, subject to applicable law. If a refund is issued, we may remove the corresponding unused allowance or access from the account. Nothing in these terms limits any refund, cancellation, or withdrawal right that the law gives you.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use Unium to:
- break the law, infringe rights, or cause harm;
- exploit or endanger minors;
- harass, defame, defraud, impersonate, or incite violence;
- interfere with the service, bypass its limits, scrape it, reverse engineer it, or use it to build a competing AI service; or
- breach the usage rules of an AI provider made available through Unium.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, fraud, security, legal risk, or a breach of these terms.
8. Your content and shared chats
You keep ownership of content you submit. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to provide and improve Unium.
Content in a shared chat is visible to its members. You are responsible for content you submit and for making sure you have the right to share it. We do not use your conversations to train AI models. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information and account deletion.
9. AI outputs and third parties
AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. They are not professional advice and should not be relied on for legal, medical, financial, safety, or other important decisions. You are responsible for checking outputs before acting on them.
AI models and some other features are supplied by third parties. Their terms and usage rules may also apply. Models and providers can change or become unavailable without notice.
10. Availability and security
We provide Unium on a best-effort, "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise uninterrupted service or any particular model, feature, result, or level of availability.
We take reasonable steps to protect the service, but no online service is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your mandatory consumer rights.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, data, or goodwill. Our total liability connected with Unium is limited to the greater of the amount paid for your Unium subscription in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD 50.
12. Ending use
You can stop using Unium and close your account at any time. Closing your account does not itself cancel a subscription or create a right to a refund.
We may suspend or close an account for a material breach, fraud or abuse, security or legal risk, or where required by law. Where practical, we will give notice and a chance to fix the issue first.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. We will update the date above and give reasonable notice of material changes. If you do not accept an update, you should cancel your subscription and stop using Unium before it takes effect.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove mandatory protections or court rights available in the country where you live.
15. General
If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest remains in effect. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a sale, merger, or reorganisation. These terms, our Privacy Policy, and any purchase terms shown at checkout form the agreement between you and us for Unium.
