What they have in common
Both Unium and Poe let you use models from several providers in one place, instead of one app per model. If your whole reason for looking is "I do not want a separate ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini subscription," either one solves that.
So the choice comes down to the bits around the models: how you pay, whether other people can join you, and who the product is really built for.
Pricing: subscription vs pay as you go
Poe, last I checked, is built around a monthly subscription with a points allowance that resets each cycle. That is fine if your usage is steady and you will reliably use what you pay for.
Unium is pay as you go. Sign-up is free, you top up prepaid credits, and you only spend them when you run a paid model or tool. Credits stay valid for up to a year. If your usage is lumpy, heavy some weeks and nothing for a month, you are not paying a flat fee through the quiet stretches.
So roughly: pick Poe if a fixed monthly allowance suits you, pick Unium if you would rather pay for what you actually use.
Sharing and shared cost
This is the bigger difference. Unium is built around other people. You can share a chat so a teammate or family member opens the real conversation and continues it, and you can pool credits in a shared wallet so a group draws from one balance. Poe is mostly a single-user product, and its sharing is more about publishing bots and prompts than working a private thread together.
So if you mainly want a solo multi-model chat, both are fine. If you want a couple of people working in the same conversation and splitting the cost, that is the thing Unium is designed for.
Who each one suits
Poe leans towards a single person who wants a big catalogue of models and bots under one subscription. Unium leans towards individuals, families, and small teams who want to pay as they go and actually collaborate. Neither is better in the abstract - it depends which of those is you.
If the second one sounds more like it, the every-model-in-one-app page goes deeper on the multi-model side.
